Combined with a sight like the Holosun where you don’t need to remove it to swap the battery this is a really cool feature. One of the cool things I didn’t see mentioned in the press release about the Raider is that it comes with a battery tray that fits in the brace and holds button batteries. It puts the optic at exactly eye level every time. I wasn’t sold on the new optic height the first time I saw pics of the Raider but it is PERFECT. If you’re already familiar with removing the FCU it will take about 2 minutes. It has a typical polymer feel and aesthetically pleasing finishĪssembly was a breeze. This might not be an issue for shorter people though (I’m 6’1” for reference).Ĭool packaging (for people who like that sort of thing, I appreciate a nice box)

I was actually going to just remove it until I saw the included warning about not using a sling unless there is a manual safety.Ĥ) I doubt many people are going to be using this with iron sights very often but it seems like the brace is a little jabby if you’re bringing the gun in tight and leaning down to get a sight picture. No idea what’s buggered with it but I sent an email to Flux so we will see what they say. There is some resistance but a few pounds of pressure will overcome it. With the gun cocked I can pull the trigger and it will fire with the safety on. Not faulting them for this, it’s probably the exact right length for the majority of people but some people will notice it.ģ) The integral safety on mine doesn’t work. Not going to be an issue for most people obviously and I doubt it will even be noticeable when firing it. I imagine a lot of us will put much more noticeable cosmetic blemishes on it through using it pretty quickly.Ģ) I have fairly large hands (need a XXL glove usually) and the grip is about 1/4” too short. I don’t really care but I know some people will look at a brand new item and be disappointed. Probably from banging around against each other in transport or whatever. I’ll go over the few “negatives” I’ve seen thus far:ġ) The finish isn’t perfect, it’s definitely got some markings on it.
